Mini Game
History on Tape
An educational puzzle game where you place historical events on a timeline — built in Godot and packed with playful design.
History on Tape is an experimental educational game that turns the challenge of learning history into a playful and engaging experience. Instead of memorizing dates from a textbook, players interact directly with a scrolling timeline — placing key historical events in the correct order, one by one.

The rules are simple:
A new event appears at the bottom of the screen.
Drag the “tape” timeline to find the right spot.
Place the event where you think it belongs.
Get it right, and the game rewards you with animations, effects, and music.
Get it wrong, and it’s game over.
The simplicity of the mechanic makes it accessible, but the increasing challenge quickly becomes addictive — pushing players to remember, reflect, and make connections between historical events.
Design & Development
The game is built with Godot Engine and combines classic UI elements (scrolling containers, event “cells,” descriptive panels) with custom visual effects. Each successful placement is enhanced with visual “juice” — particle explosions, a camera flash effect, and animated text — turning each correct answer into a mini celebration.
While humorous at its core, the project explores how game design principles can transform education. By reframing history as an interactive puzzle, History on Tape demonstrates how play and learning can blend to create a more memorable experience.
