How I Ported Borderlands to Mobile… Somehow
If you’ve ever wondered what happens when a tiny prototype spirals out of control… here’s the story.
Botherlands started as a joke for my Epic Waste of Time series: a quick, messy browser game where you loot guns, shoot dudes, and die a lot. But after a while, I realized the little project had way more potential.
So I rebuilt it from scratch for mobile — cleaner code, proper touch controls, bosses that aren’t just bigger enemy sprites, a crazy weapon vending system, trophies, meta-progression, and all the chaos you’d expect.
In this devlog video, I walk through the journey, show off the new features, and share some behind-the-scenes madness — basically a short story of how a joke became a real, playable game.
